The Hsu Family
Hi all...
This is my retrograde blog about my time in New Jersey with the Hsu's...but I am of course in Europe at this extremely hot internet cafe. Not only am I sweating like a pig, but this European keyboard is annoying me. Lots of things are in the wrong place...I had no idea I used the dash, quotation mark, apostrophe, semicolon, colon and back slash key so often. But look at all the cool keys I have access to: è+àòì^çé*°_§ù
Anyway, my internet cafe time is almost up....But hereàs a picture of the Hsu family.
Lorraine and I were roommates junior year in college....I think we both agree it was our best year at Stanford, even though we lived in this frighteningly small 1 room double...that only had one window. The singles on that floor were bigger than our double...but it was a good very fun year despite the close quarters. It was really great to see Lorraine, to hang out with Baby Nathaniel (who until that visit I had been thinking of as more as "Baby LoLo" than Nathaniel...) and of course to see Henry. I heard him sing....which I haven't heard him do since college I think? I went there were Hebs....here she is with the baby....
OH and RANDOM. Guess what my mom was doing while I was in New Jersey? She went to this parade to give props to taiwanese democracy and independence. This apparently is last year's t-shirt....she says that this years is ugly so she didn't want one. Anyway...this cracks me up...and i also find it a bit cool that she and her friends are still involved in this.
Apparently, the parade was on 5th ave in manhattan, but it got rained on....and it happens every year...and this year there were mean chinese protesters who said they had no right to be there because taiwan is not a country. anyway....the details are scattered since they come from my mom....perhaps something more linear from me about this next time. my cafe time is up....
